baby moore: 37 weeks

How far along: 37 weeks

Size of Baby: Romaine lettuce

Gender: We're still not telling, but we do know!

Weight Gain: I gave up on this battle. I've gained 32 lbs, and I'm okay with it. It is what it is.

Movement: This baby is far more aggressive with movement than Spencer ever was. At night, baby seems to come alive and feel the need to rip apart my insides with huge, tumbling barrel-rolls. I'm ready for baby to come just to stop that pain! While the movements used to be tender and sweet, baby has literally run out of room.

Sleep: It's kind of a mixed bag over here. When I lie down, baby decides it's time to move. I've been taking half a Unisom, so that's helped sleep eventually come, but I still wake a few times a night to use the restroom.

Workouts: Ancient history. I walk to pick Spencer up from daycare, and to get there and back is about a mile and a half. Because of my sciatic pain, which I never had with Spencer, running just didn't happen. I'm excited to really get back in the swing of things after baby though.

Maternity Clothes: Leggings. All day, every day. I wear tank tops that are normal, but all my bottoms are leggings of the maternity variety. Mamas, if you're looking for great ones, Blanqi has been my go-to...worth every penny.

Cravings/Aversions: This baby is not a health food nut. I really want chili cheese hot dogs, sushi and coke. I've also been extremely partial to strawberries and pineapple, so that helps. Ice is my go-to lately, as well, which I'm sure has something to do with the fact that I can't eat much anymore. That dreaded morning sickness has hit again in full force.

Best Part of the Week: I'm down to weekly appointments. I have a test today where we'll check the fluid levels around baby, see how much baby has dropped and whether I've dilated further. We're almost there, folks!

Can't Wait For: Baby! Seriously. It's time :)

baby moore: 26 weeks

For my 30th birthday, I offer up a bumpdate because, what's better than being 26 weeks pregnant on your 30th birthday?! But seriously, we woke up this morning to a 2-hour delay for Ryan on post due to ice, a happy baby and a morning with a cup of coffee in bed...it really doesn't get better than that!

How far along: 26 weeks

Size of Baby: A head of lettuce

Gender: We're not telling - but we do know…and we're thrilled!

Weight Gain: My scale taunts me daily. If I go by the first weight I had at the doctor at 6 weeks, I'm up 16 lbs. It's okay...I'm dealing ;)

Movement: Oh yes! Ryan's seen the peanut dance through my dress at skirt, and this bean seems to think that early mornings are now the best time of day to let mama know that they are having a blast in there.

Sleep: I sleep like the dead, and it's wonderful! I do have the weirdest dreams though. Last night, for example, I was aboard the star ship Enterprise, which crashed into the water off a cliff and turned into a cruise ship, which then proceeded to sink at port. I think I should quit working in cruising.

Workouts: Working out has become a bit of a painful topic with my. I've had very bad sciatic nerve and round ligament pain this time around, which seems to force me to cut my runs short. I try to run about 5 miles total a week now, and I do a mix of yoga and walking to supplement.

Maternity Clothes: My pants are all maternity. All my tops are normal. I've got a penchant for long shirts anyway, so it works out :)

Cravings/Aversions: Baby does not want spinach. Baby wants pizza...all. day. long.

Best Part of the Week: I finally got out for a run two days ago, and it was amazing. It was slow, and it felt like poo, but moving felt like such freedom again. This mama can't wait to put the miles back on her legs!

Can't Wait For: Oddly enough, I can't wait for my glucose test. That bugger is looming over my head this time around haha

baby moore: 23 weeks

How far along: 23 weeks

Size of Baby: Grapefruit

Gender: We're not telling - but we do know…and we're thrilled!

Weight Gain: After a 7-day monster plague/stomach virus that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, I'm back down to a cumulative gain of 9 lbs.

Movement: All the time! Baby Moore is a mover and a shaker in there - especially at night. This peanut likes to move around reallllllly low, and I feel like I might regret that later in pregnancy.

Sleep: I'm finally getting some sleep again, which I truly love. I felt like death last week, which was really hard because I never got any real rest. Now, I feel alive when our alarms go off early in the morning, and I can actually function.

Workouts: Sadly enough, I did absolutely nothing last week. Nothing. I got out and did a run this morning…just one mile…and it felt amazing. My OB has told me that he's much more interested in frequency of workouts than duration and the longevity of my runs.

Maternity Clothes: I'm still wearing a mix, but I'm living mostly in leggings and sweaters, which I think is totally kosher for winter - whether pregnant or not!

Cravings/Aversions: Now that I can finally eat again, all I want is pizza and mango. That's a ridiculous combination!

Best Part of the Week: I had my 23-week appointment today, and heard peanut's heartbeat right at 140 bpm. I'll be having a repeat ultrasound in the next couple of weeks, as well, because baby's kidneys were showing a little wonky on our 20 week ultrasound, and my doctor wants to do the ultrasound himself. He has a hunch it was just a tech error, but fingers crossed either way.

Can't Wait For: I can't wait to have this baby bean in my arms, but at the same time, I can, too. It's a weird mix of emotions!

baby moore: 19 weeks

I can't believe I'm already almost halfway with this pregnancy...and that my last update was seriously a month ago. They weren't kidding when they said that time flies the second/third/fourth time around. I'm so busy with Spencer, work, life and everything that I barely have time to reflect on it. That said, I'm so thrilled to share another update with you.

How far along: 19 weeks

Size of Baby: Papaya

Gender: We did an early ultrasound while we were in Utah around 16 weeks, so we're pretty certain we know what baby Moore is, but you know there's always a margin of error! We find out for sure on the 12th...but I'm still not sure whether we'll share.

Weight Gain: Woof. I'm up 11 lbs. Hello, double digits! Here's the thing - I'm still not at my starting weight that I was when I got pregnant with Spencer. I consider that a victory.

Movement: I started feeling the peanut a few days ago for sure, and I finally felt the little bean on the outside for the first time two nights ago!

Sleep: I am finally sleeping like the dead. I take a potty break or two at night, but then I'm back out until I have to wake up to work out at 6 AM.

Workouts: I've been making a point of getting a run in every single day - even if it's just a mile. Granted, that's the past few days. Spencer and I have been passing the same cold back and forth for a few weeks, and I'm finally getting over it, so I'm happy to be back to activity.

Maternity Clothes: I'm wearing a mix. I live in my Blanqi leggings if I'm not wearing my pre-pregnancy jeans with a hair tie. For church, I'm definitely wearing maternity dresses because my pencil skirts obviously don't fit anymore!

Cravings/Aversions: It depends on the day. I'm still not really into chicken, and the smell of cooking olive oil makes me nauseous, but other than that, I can do most things in moderation!

Best Part of the Week: I got to hear the sweet peanut's fast heartbeat on Tuesday! It was hovering right at 150 bpm - strong and steady. Baby is low, low, low, and doctor thinks I'm measuring a touch on the small side, but it was so good to hear that sweet sound again.

Can't Wait For: Finding out the gender for sure on the 12th! I really have no doubts at all, but I'll be happy to have the health, size and everything else confirmed. Here's to a really good screening next week!

38 (plus) week bump date

I can't believe Thanksgiving has already come and gone! It was such a whirlwind this year, and it was definitely different not being home with family - either Ryan's or my own - this year. We were lucky enough, however, to spend it with our Army family. We've made some wonderful friends here at Fort Huachuca, and it was nice to spend the holiday with one of our favorite families here, who are very shortly PCSing to Fort Wainwright in Alaska. We'll be heading off to opposite corners of the world, but we've been so blessed to meet and spend time with Jeremy, Tiffany and their two sweet children, Cayden and Madison.

And now, life is moving full-speed ahead! We sold Ryan's car this morning, which is a huge relief (and a huge blessing) because it just wouldn't be a great car for the winters in New York or for our growing family. We'll purchase a second car once we're back East, which should weather the climate better. We have our pre-inspection from housing here on post this coming Wednesday, which is our first step towards moving out on the 18th. Ryan has his final day of his 150U course tomorrow, and then he's all mine through the move until his report date at Drum! Our house purchase is moving forward, and we're looking at closing December 29th…which we are SO excited about! But…onto the bump :)

^^^ I always look slightly ridiculous in selfies

How far along: 38 weeks & 2 days

Gender: We're not finding out!

Weight gain: 20 lbs…and I feel all 20 of them. My weight, however, has leveled off.

Maternity clothes: I can still fit into my pre-pregnancy jeans with an elastic, but I don't try anymore. These days, I'm solely in leggings and sweaters, and I'm loving it.

Stretch marks: I have one teeny one on my left hip, which taunts me nightly, but that's the only one I've had. Coconut oil has been a complete lifesaver.

Belly button in or out: It's a very flat pancake these days…does that still count as an innie?

Sleep: I've been sleeping like a rock lately. I have the weirdest dreams in the whole world, but when I'm asleep, I'm just dead to the world.

Best moment this week: Spending Thanksgiving with our wonderful friends and getting to dote on baby Madison was lovely. It was nice, too, to spend this final holiday with my love as just a couple of young newlyweds. Life is going to change so much soon, and I've savored every moment of just us.

Miss anything: I miss being comfortable and not feeling as though I'm going to wet myself all the time. And yet, at the same time, I'm blessed to feel these discomforts.

Movement: Baby Moore has quite the penchant for snuggling with his or her legs all scrunched under my right ribs. I feel a lot of movement very low these days, almost as though baby is ready to make its way out, too, which is exciting!

Cravings: Ice water and coffee. That's pretty much it!

Food aversions: No real food aversions here anymore, which is pretty awesome!

Looking forward to: I have an ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow. I was measuring small at my appointment last week, so my OB wanted me to get in to see if I'm leaking amniotic fluid. He has a sneaking suspicion I might be, which means it's time for baby to come out. I also have an OB appointment on Tuesday, a cervical check to strip my membranes on Friday and, if that doesn't start labor, I'll be induced on Sunday, 12/7. My friends, we're a week away from baby!!!

37 week bumpdate

Ladies and gents...we officially have a full-term baby on our hands! I swear that on the one hand, I feel like I just found out yesterday that I was pregnant. On the other hand, while people warned me that the last few weeks are the longest, I don't think I really knew, or took to heart, what that actually meant until the last few days. I'm so, so ready to hold this baby in my arms. Am I ready for nighttime feedings, losing my lady bits for a while and becoming a regular dairy farm? Probably not, but that's all part of the adventure...right?!

How far along: 35 weeks

Gender: We're not finding out!

Weight gain: 19 lbs. I can't even eat, so I can only assume that nugget is packing on the pounds.

Maternity clothes: HA. Maternity clothes all the time, and I wear pajamas if I'm not leaving the house. I've become that person.

Stretch marks: None. Coconut oil has been a lifesaver.

Belly button in or out: It's in, but it looks ready to pop.

Sleep: When I can sleep, I sleep like the dead. I wake up at least 4 times a night to use the bathroom though, and lately I've found myself waking up around 3 and not being able to fall back asleep.

Best moment this week: Hitting full-term today! It means that this baby is fully-developed and can come any day now with little to no risk at all of breathing/lung issues. Honestly, we're hoping baby decides to make an early appearance!

Miss anything: Food, really. I'm so full of baby that I'm never really hungry anymore. I crave something, take a few bites, and I'm done.

Movement: Baby's movements are a lot less pronounced these days because he/she is running out of wiggle room. That said, I can definitely feel the baby a lot more down there. It's pretty uncomfortable, but hopefully a sign of things to come!

Cravings: Nothing. I want nothing these days haha

Food aversions: Finally - no food aversions!

Looking forward to: My next OB appointment is on Tuesday. My OB will check me, and we'll see if baby's decided to fully engage (hopefully)! I'm also really looking forward to a relaxing weekend of just Ryan and I because with the move and baby coming so soon, we're in for a treat! Oh yeah, and I really want to know if it's a boy or a girl!

36 week bumpdate

I am totally of two schools of thought now. On the one hand, I'm all for baby staying in there, baking a little longer and taking his/her sweet time so Ryan and I can enjoy our last few days of singledom. On the other hand though...oh my gosh. I'm so ready to have this nugget in our arms and, well, to be honest, I'd love my body back. They said the last few weeks would be the hardest (and the longest), and they weren't kidding. It's madness.

^^^ well, hello there, little baby moore. you can come out now!

How far along: 36 weeks

Gender: We're not finding out!

Weight gain: 17 lbs - no gain in the last two weeks, which doctor said was a good indicator that the end is in sight

Maternity clothes: I'm officially not comfortable in anything. When I do force myself to wear clothes, they're 99% maternity clothes now. I live in my maternity leggings and hoodies, and I'm not ashamed of it. The picture is of me in a Target maternity tank dress, and it's heaven.

Stretch marks: None. I thought I saw one on my left hip the other day and had a legitimate breakdown. It turned out to be a crease from my shorts. No biggie.

Belly button in or out: It's still in, but it's lopsided and looks like it's drunk

Sleep: Oh my gosh, the past few days, I've had the weirdest dreams, but I've slept like the dead. Maybe it's my body letting me have just a few last moments of rest?!

Best moment this week: There was a lot of good this week. The bassinet was assembled, Ryan had a 4-day, so we got a lot of PCS business done, and despite a little scare, we got to see peanut dance for an hour or so at the hospital for our NST. We were quickly cleared to go home, as I figured we would be, but it was a wakeup call to get ready.

Miss anything: I miss being able to physically exert myself. There is zero running, I'm lucky if I walk more than a mile a day, and this lower back pain definitely hinders most everything else.

Movement: Baby Moore enjoys moving, but I think baby Moore is also running out of room. He/she finds comfy little nooks on my sides at night, but the footsies are right up in my ribs, so that's fun. Good news with that though? Baby's head down and almost engaged!

Cravings: Olives. I also really want McDonalds french fries, which is absurd. I don't like greasy things.

Food aversions: Pretty much just meat again. It gives me heartburn and I get nauseous.

Looking forward to: Since my 36 week appointment was on Wednesday, we have a mandatory induction date due to our impending PCS. If baby isn't born by 12/4, they'll start the induction process so baby will arrive around 12/7 - no later. It gives us a real end in sight, though I'm really hoping to go into labor naturally! Fingers crossed :)

35 week bumpdate

It's sheer madness in the Moore household, my friends! With the recent revelation that our deferment was denied and our move date is scheduled for December 18th, things have been moving crazy fast here! Ryan has his official orders to Drum in hand, we pushed them over to housing and transportation, and things are moving here. We've got all our docs to our lender and attorney in New York for the house (fingers crossed), and our home inspection is set for next Tuesday. Yes, we're that crazy that we're buying a house in a different state, all while preparing for a baby. And, on the baby front, there are interesting developments there, too...

^^^ yikes. also, those are my pre-prego jeans. but still...yikes.

How far along: 35 weeks

Gender: We're not finding out!

Weight gain: 17 lbs - it seems to be leveling off right now, and I'm okay with that.

Maternity clothes: It's a mix. I have a bunch of maternity dresses that I rotate between, as well as maxi dresses and skirts. I definitely still wear my pre-prego jeans with the hair-tie closing them (per the above picture) though.

Stretch marks: I swear by coconut oil because I have zero stretch marks. Used twice a day, it's been a life-saver.

Belly button in or out: It's in, but it is flat as a pancake!

Sleep: Sleep is so hit or miss. I honestly can't shut my brain off, which is the bulk of the issue I have with sleeping right now. I'm really hoping that I can get a few more great nights of sleep though before baby comes!

Best moment this week: Putting in our papers for our first home together at Fort Drum! Knowing the space (and loving it), and finally being able to think about designing the baby's nursery is so much fun. I can't wait to have our little nugget in his/her own little crib in there, snoozing away with snow falling outside.

Miss anything: I miss breathing comfortably, sleeping and working out. I walk about 12-15 miles a week, but I'm constantly having Braxton Hicks, and I have to pee about 40 times a day.

Movement: This baby is a mover and a shaker. He or she listens and responds to daddy's voice when he sings to my belly (and yes, my husband is a great singer). Plus, baby is most active right before I go to bed or with my one cup of coffee in the morning.

Cravings: Ice water. I haven't really wanted anything else lately, though I do have a penchant for sweets. That's not that abnormal for me though.

Food aversions: Avocado (which is just plain sad!)

Looking forward to: My 36 week appointment is next week. We have some serious questions to go over with my OB - namely induction. Because we'll be moving just 9 days after my due date, the doctor isn't comfortable with that timeframe for mine or the baby's cross-country move. There's a possibility baby Moore might be induced before December, which is perfectly fine with me!

34 week bump date

Well, I fail at blogging, now don't I? Honestly, not too much exciting has been going on around here except for a nasty bout of the flu in the Moore household. Plus, Ryan's 150U course is kicking his butt, and work has definitely kicked into high gear for me lately, too. With maternity leave fast-approaching, I feel like there's never quite enough time to get stuff done. On the one hand, this pregnancy is going at a snail's pace now that we're nearing the finish line. On the other hand though, holy moly…time is flying. It might be time to start assembling the baby's bassinet…just a thought.

How far along: 34 weeks

Gender: We're not finding out!

Weight gain: 17 lbs

Maternity clothes: It's a mix. I have a bunch of maternity dresses that I rotate between, as well as maxi dresses and skirts. I definitely still wear my pre-prego jeans with the hair-tie closing them (per the above picture) though.

Stretch marks: Coconut oil, my friends, is heaven. I have no stretch marks. I rub it all over my breasts, belly, back and sides both night and day, and it's been working perfectly.

Belly button in or out: It's still an innie, but it's getting flatter.

Sleep: It was rough while Ryan and I had the flu, but the last few days I've slept amazing. I even slept through my alarm today, which never happens!

Best moment this week: I had my 34 week appointment this past Wednesday, and my OB said that baby Moore has dropped and is head down. He thinks I'm a good 5 to 6 days, at least, ahead of my due date, which is a relief! He also said he estimates baby is around 5 lbs right now and close to 18 inches. AND we finally picked a girl's name. We had a our boy name and we thought we had a girl name, but we've been debating it for a while now.

Miss anything: I miss working out and being able to walk without feeling as though I might wet myself on a daily basis. Other than that, I'm pretty content!

Movement: All the time! Baby really enjoys kicking me in the ribs, which is quite the sensation. I also get the occasional punch to the bladder when he/she doesn't like my position.

Cravings: Ice water and pesto. I don't even ask questions anymore. I'm just glad when I can eat because I feel so full all the time.

Food aversions: Avocado

Looking forward to: I'm flying to Boston and then NY this weekend! Ryan won't be able to make it because of his 150U course, but we're hoping beyond hope that we love this house as much in person as we do online. If so…we might have news soon!

33 week bumpdate

Time is both flying right now and really, really slow. There's a part of me that's so ready to be done with pregnancy and have this little nugget in my arms to cuddle and love. There's another part of me though that's really nervous for this next chapter. Between having a baby, a PCS and buying a home, there is a lot of stress in the Moore household right now, and it's definitely taken its toll this past week. All that said though, I'm doing my best to savor these last few weeks as a mama-to-be.

How far along: 33 weeks

Gender: We're not finding out!

Weight gain: 16 lbs

Maternity clothes: I mostly wear maternity clothes these days, though I'm holding onto my old faithful trick of wearing a hair tie to close my jeans. Other than that, I live in maxi dresses and really long tank tops with cardigans.

Stretch marks: I swear I'm going to have to do a full post on this after baby is born, but I've been using pure coconut oil from the start, and I don't have a single stretch mark. The great thing about coconut oil is that, though it's a solid, it liquefies on contact with body heat, so it's like a pure, natural moisturizer. I rub it all over my breasts, belly, back and sides both night and day, and it's been working perfectly.

Belly button in or out: It's still an innie, but it's getting flatter.

Sleep: Hit or miss. If I nap during the day, I don't sleep well at night. If I drink too much in the evening, I don't sleep well because I have to go to the bathroom all the time. Some nights though, I just sleep like the dead.

Best moment this week: Everything was pretty darn good this week, so I really have no "best moment."

Miss anything: I miss running, as well as working out, in general. With this baby sitting so slow, constant round ligament pain and some serious sciatica, running is out. I do lunges, dips and walk as much as possible, but even walking gets hard because baby is cramping my lungs and I need to pee every 15 minutes or so.

Movement: Baby is a mover. I always worry a little if he/she is not moving because it's pretty much consistent these days. I get lots of kicks in the ribs, as well as pokes to the bladder, but I appreciate them as much as you can ;)

Cravings: Ice water and cannoli (which is weird because I've had cannoli maybe 3 times in my life)

Food aversions: Avocado

Looking forward to: My 34 week appointment is next Wednesday, then I'm switching to weekly checkups...how crazy is that?! I'm also flying to NY next weekend to look at houses for Ryan and I because he's in the throes of his 150U course, and his instructors won't give him any leeway. There's a house we want to make an offer on, but we need to do it in person, with an inspector and my father, so it's up to me. Luckily, my no-fly order isn't until the week after. Yay for small saving graces!

just the two of us

Life as just the two of us is slowly winding down, and while we're both immensely excited for little baby Moore to make his/her grand entrance, we're really taking the time to savor every second that's just the two of us lately. Above all else, Ryan is my very best friend, my confidant, and my partner. I'd be lying if I said the prospect of there being another little one of us wasn't slightly intimidating. Nevertheless, we're totally looking forward to the next adventure.

This weekend, Ryan was in the wedding of one of his soldiers, so we made the three hour trek up to Phoenix, spent a couple nights in a nice hotel and went to the wedding yesterday evening. Ryan is ridiculously attractive in his dress blues, and I haven't seen him in them since he went Warrant Officer, so it was a fun night of getting dressed up and spending time as a couple.

^^^ saluting the belly. it's a thing.

During the drive up and back, we really had the time to think about how exciting the next few months are going to be for us. We're going to have a baby, our first married PCS, we're looking for a house up in New York, and we're going to be closer to my family. It's such an exciting time, and we're making sure to savor every little moment we have.

^^^ sassy look from my man

Until then though, we're just enjoying the remaining couple of months in Arizona. While we enjoy the sun, we're looking forward to a colder climate and starting fresh at his next duty station. And, frankly, I'm enjoying the last few months of just the two of us because I am so endlessly blessed to have that handsome, snarky, sassy, hilarious and lovable ginger man by my side through it all.

31 week bumpdate

I'm pretty amazed how quickly time is flying right now, and though everyone has warned me that it will slow down near the end, I'm treasuring this time. Baby Moore is a  mover and a shaker in there these days, and it's insane to feel these pronounced kicks, hiccups and rolls all the time. While it might not look like much (until I eat a big meal - and it does happen), trust me, there's a baby in there. The nugget has been in the head-down position for almost 3 weeks now, so we're *cautiously* optimistic that we may have a baby earlier than December. Who knows?! Until then, baby can just keep cooking :)

^^^ I take shameless selfies these days. Whoops.

How far along: 31 weeks

Gender: We're not finding out!

Weight gain: It's hovering between 12 and 13 lbs now

Maternity clothes: Mostly only maternity clothes these days. I live in maxi dresses and skirts, as well as yoga pants and leggings, too. I can still wear most of my pre-pregnancy tanks though and I do still wear my pre-pregnancy jeans with a hair tie to close them.

Stretch marks: None. I swear by pure coconut oil twice a day. I rub it all over my boobs, belly, back and sides, and it seems to be doing the trick thus far.

Belly button in or out: It's still very much an innie!

Sleep: I've actually been sleeping amazing the past few nights! I make sure I stop drinking any liquids around 7 PM, and I only get up 2 times a night to go to the bathroom, which is a huge improvement.

Best moment this week: My family was in town, and they got to experience the full-blown effect of baby Moore! Baby cooperated and kicked for both my sisters, and my mom got to feel it have the hiccups and do its little barrel rolls in there.

Miss anything: I miss running like I used to. Running has been much harder lately, and I'm lucky if I get a full mile in before I resort to walking. I'm hoping beyond hope that it comes back after the birth.

Movement: I never thought it would get to this point, but baby Moore's movements are much less gentle these days! Baby is a mover, and when he/she gets going, there are some pretty intense jabs straight to the ribs now. I can also distinguish the little knobby knees, which is so fun.

Cravings: Ice water and bananas

Food aversions: Eggs and avocado. I just can't stomach them!

Looking forward to: Our childbirth classes are starting next week! Yes, we're a little behind schedule here…whoops ;)

30 week bumpdate

It's kind of crazy to believe that today marks 30 weeks of baby Moore. Ryan and I are getting more excited (and way more nervous) as the days tick by, but we're definitely eagerly anticipating the peanut's arrival. My parents are arriving in town tomorrow morning, and my baby shower is on Sunday, so it's going to be a busy few days, but we're so thrilled to actually start preparing and celebrating this little nugget.

How far along: 30 weeks

Gender: We're not finding out!

Weight gain: Right at 11 lbs total. I weighed in at the doc a little less on Wednesday, but he mentioned it was entirely normal.

Maternity clothes: Yes. I scored a whole bunch of sale dresses (read: mumus) at Target the other day, and I live in them now. If I'm wearing jeans, I still wear my pre-pregnancy jeans with my new belly band, or I wear yoga pants. I just don't like any of the maternity jeans I've seen.

Stretch marks: None. I swear by pure coconut oil twice a day. I rub it all over my boobs, belly, back and sides, and it seems to be doing the trick thus far.

Belly button in or out: In, though that little indent over my belly button is a strange phenomenon.

Sleep: Sleep is entirely dependent on the amount of liquids I drink prior to bed. If I don't drink anything after 6 PM, I can generally get by with only two trips to the bathroom per night. If, however, I feel the need to drink hot chocolate at 8 PM like I did on Tuesday, 5+ visits to the bathroom is not uncommon. When I am sleeping though, I sleep like the dead.

Best moment this week: I had my 30 week appointment this past week, and shiz is definitely getting real! Visits to the OB are every two weeks now, and baby Moore has quite the sense of humor when Nina, my nurse, tries to Doppler for a heartbeat. Baby Moore decided squirming away from the Doppler was reasonable, so it took her a good 10 minutes to get an accurate heartrate of 144 bpm. Strong peanut!

Miss anything: I still really miss my old body, but I'm learning to embrace these last 10 weeks of the peanut. Honestly, I think the whole process is incredible, but having no control over your body is a huge eye-opener.

Movement: All. The. Time. I think baby is running out of room, so movements are much more pronounced these days. Sometimes, I can feel the baby's head or bum on one side or the other, and I have to say that the kicks to the belly button are not pleasant. On the weirder side...baby really likes the right side of my abdomen. It's unique.

Cravings: Sweets and ice water. I also really want Subway Italian BMTs.

Food aversions: Eggs and avocado. I've noticed my nausea is more pronounced again like the third trimester, but it's avoidable if I eat.

Looking forward to: Our baby shower is on Sunday, and my parents arrive tomorrow! I can't wait :)

29 week bumpdate

I can't believe I'm 29 weeks today. I feel bigger than ever, but I have to say that I also feel pretty darn awesome these days for being less than 3 months (hopefully) until nugget decides to make his or her grand entrance. With Ryan finally home, we're starting to slowly but surely get things in order, but it's amazing how much we still have to do. Babies are a lot of work, people...and this one isn't even born yet.

^^^ selfies. so attractive. my apologies.

How far along: 29 weeks

Gender: We're not finding out!

Weight gain: 9 lbs...I actually lost a few pounds in the past week, and I'll definitely be asking my OB about that next week. 9 lbs might not seem like a ton, but it feels like a ton.

Maternity clothes: I wear my maternity jeans and shorts these days, but I mix between pre-prego tops and maternity tops. I also love, love, love wearing maxi dresses and leggings with tunic tops. They're keeping me sane.

Stretch marks: None. I swear by pure coconut oil twice a day. I rub it all over my boobs, belly, back and sides, and it seems to be doing the trick thus far.

Belly button in or out: In, though that little indent over my belly button is a strange phenomenon.

Sleep: Still hit or miss. I usually fall dead asleep from about 9:30 to 12:30, then I wake up to go to the bathroom, go back to sleep, then wake up at 3:30 and 5:30 again - right until I wake up to work and Ryan leaves for PT.

Best moment this week: Ryan came home!!! Not much can really trump that, guys.

Miss anything: I miss my old body. I know this sounds silly and ungrateful and cliche, but it's so weird being in a body that's so foreign to me. I love it, but it's strange.

Movement: Baby Moore is a mover. Every time I get up to use the bathroom at night, baby wakes up and kicks. When I have breakfast, baby kicks. When I eat dinner, baby does barrel rolls. I've noticed that the longer I sit, too, the more baby moves. I think he/she is getting cramped in there.

Cravings: Ice water, cheese, smoothies and applesauce....annnnnd hot chocolate

Food aversions: Eggs and avocado. I've been adding a little more red meat into my diet slowly to boost my iron, and I seem to be surviving.

Looking forward to: I have my next OB appointment this coming Wednesday...so crazy that they're every two weeks now! Also, Ryan and I scheduled his hospital tour (blergh, I've seen it), as well as our childbirth classes. AND, we have our Arizona baby shower next weekend, as well as my parents coming to town. Busy, busy, busy!

27-week bumpdate

I swear that when Ryan and I first found out we were expecting, I didn't know how I was ever going to make it to the third trimester, but here we are! It's insane. On the one hand, I feel like time is flying - probably because we don't yet have everything we need for this baby. On the other hand though, I feel like time is just dragging. I think that's because I feel large and in charge (less so in charge of my own body these days though). Ryan's coming home in just 12 days, and we couldn't be more excited for him to be finally be home and a part of this process, so here's to the last 13 weeks of this pregnancy!

^^^ looks are deceiving, folks. I included two pictures because the bump is different all the time.

How far along: 27 weeks + 3 days

Gender: We're not finding out!

Weight gain: 11.5 lbs - I'm SO bloated these days though, too, so I don't know how much is water, how much is baby...and how much is copius amounts of horrible food I want.

Maternity clothes: I'm most comfortable in maternity pants these days. I can still fit into my pre-pregnancy jeans with a hair-tie, but once I sit down, all bets are off. I generally wear my maternity shorts from target, yoga pants from Victoria's Secret, leggings or maxi dresses.

Stretch marks: None. Friends, there is NO need to buy expensive creams. I've been using pure coconut oil since 14 weeks and slathering it on my belly, back, waist and boobs twice a day. It's been a game-changer thus far.

Belly button in or out: In. That indent over my belly button is definitely getting more prominent now though!

Sleep: Sleep is still so hit or miss. I usually lie awake for a few hours at night just thinking, and it's annoying. Then, when I finally fall asleep, I sleep hard for 2-3 hours, then I wake up every 2 hours to pee. It's a joyful time.

Best moment this week: I ran 2.5 miles in full. I've been doing a lot of intervals since running has been a lot harder lately, but I felt good, and I ran the full thing. It felt awesome! I also toured the labor and delivery wing at our hospital...and unfortunately, I hate it. It's a military hospital - drab, gross and simple. It's a good thing that I plan to labor at home as long as possible.

Miss anything: I miss Ryan like nobody's business. I also really miss seeing a much smaller number on the scale, and I miss the feeling of being able to button up my jeans. It's the little things, people.

Movement: Constantly! I managed to get a good video of it for family the other day, and they all got a kick out of it. I'm not sure which body part is which yet, but Ryan can't wait until we can see little feet poking out here, there and everywhere.

Cravings: Ice water, alfredo sauce, sundried tomatoes and salted caramel mochas from Starbucks.

Food aversions: Red meat, eggs, avocado. I also have no desire for kale or spinach, but I stick them in my green smoothies, and we're all good.

Looking forward to: I have my 28 week appointment a little early this week on Wednesday since I'm going out of town to Salt Lake City for my first baby shower this weekend! This is the last monthly visit...after this, visits are every two weeks. Holy reality check!

getting back in the groove + 26 week bumpdate

It's official. I'm the world's worst blogger ever. I swear that I wake up every day with every intention of blogging, but it somehow gets pushed to the back of my mind each time. If it's any consolation, my book blog has suffered, as well. Ryan's officially been gone for 5 weeks now. We have a little bit less than 3 weeks to go, and it looks like he'll be home on the 26th - finally! BOLC has been hard for him - I think he's really just ready to be home and to be a part of this awesome baby-growing process. But, thankfully, his training out of state is coming to an end!

I've been MIA forever, and I feel like it's necessary to give a bumpdate/update upon my return, if only to get back in the swing of things. Plus, let's be honest, it's pretty much the most exciting thing happening in the Moore household right now.

^^^ sorry about the selfies. the hubs is my photographer, and he's clearly away right now.

How far along: 26 weeks 4 days

Gender: We're not finding out!

Weight gain: 9 lbs - though I'm weighing myself only once a week now. My OB told me to stop stressing about it because everything looks good, the baby is healthy, and all systems are go.

Maternity clothes: I've been wearing a mix. I can fit into my normal shirts, though I did purchase a few new options from Old Navy's maternity section the other day. I can also fit into my pre-pregnancy jeans, though I use the hair-tie trick to close them, or a belly band. I've bought one pair of maternity shorts thus far from Target (amazing), and I just bought some black stretchy pants/leggings. Other than that, maxi dresses, Lululemon shorts and my husband's pajama pants :)

Stretch marks: None. Friends, there is NO need to buy expensive creams. I've been using pure coconut oil since 14 weeks and slathering it on my belly, back, waist and boobs twice a day. It's been a game-changer thus far.

Belly button in or out: In…I do have a fun new indent over my belly button now, which my OB says indicates that the baby is lying with his/her back to my back, creating a pocket effect.

Sleep: Sleep is crazy hit or miss these days. I'm exhausted, but if I nap, I can't sleep at night. I've also started to have insane dreams and a lot of anxiety at night lately. I did buy a body pillow, but I tend to kick it away from me in the middle of the night.

Best moment this week: I assembled the baby's stroller the other day, and it was easy! After a LOT of thought and consideration, we purchased the Graco FastAction Fold Jogger Click Connect travel system in charcoal. We were sold on the quality of tires for all terrain, plus the fact that it's highly rated for running. And yes, it folds and clicks super easy, which is a huge plus for me.

Miss anything: I miss my husband. A lot. I want him to experience these crazy little antics of our peanut because it drives me insane with love. I also miss my smaller boobs…and having boobs that didn't leak.

Movement: This baby is constantly moving, and he/she is most active early in the morning and late at night. After a rough few weeks of lots of crotch punches, the peanut has taking to tackling my ribs instead, which is actually preferable.

Cravings: Ice water, cheese and salted caramel mochas from Starbucks.

Food aversions: Red meat, eggs, avocado. I also have no desire for kale or spinach, but I stick them in my green smoothies, and we're all good.

Looking forward to: Surprisingly, I'm looking forward to my glucose test and getting it out of the way. I'll be having it this coming Friday, and I'm hoping it comes back clean! Also, my Utah baby shower is on September 20th, so I'm super excited for that!

-------------------------------------------------

I'm super proud to say that I'm still running at over 26 weeks pregnant, so tomorrow I'll be sharing some of my fit pregnancy must-haves!

that time I took almost two months off blogging

I basically fail at this blog. In all fairness to me, I kind of got a little burned out after the whole drama of posting through the first trimester, and when Ryan left for WOCs, I just needed to clear my head, settle down and get things straight for myself. Ryan has come and gone again. He's officially a Warrant Officer, and I couldn't be more proud of all he accomplished in Alabama! He left again yesterday morning for BOLC (Basic Officer's Leadership Course), and this time he'll be gone for 7 weeks. The good thing is that he's in a hotel this time around, and I can visit, so I'll be flying to Alabama at the end of the month for 10 days.

In the time I was absent from le blog, I went to New Hampshire for a week, as well as Philadelphia, and I was really able to just get away from it all, which was amazing. We also found out that Ryan is looking at a deployment next year, and we're starting to brace ourselves for that because, while we don't know the actual date, we know it will definitely be happening. Army life, my friends, is not an easy one…that said though, I wouldn't change it for the world!

All that said though…I figure it's high time I give a little update on Baby Moore! Would you believe I'm well into my second trimester now?! Thank the Lord, my friends! It's restored my faith in pregnancy. So, without further ado, a bumpdate for you all:

How far along: 21.5 weeks

Gender: We're not finding out!

Weight gain: Right about 4 lbs. The weight gain started up right around 17 weeks and, luckily, seems to be mostly around the belly (and boobs), so I can't complain too much.

Maternity clothes: None yet. I bought a pair of shorts though, and I have a feeling I'll be wearing them soon. I'm also going to invest in a few tops because I swear…dressing for a growing belly is difficult!

Stretch marks: None yet.

Belly button in or out: In

Sleep: I sleep like the dead…once baby Moore decides to calm down. Right as I go to bed, little peanut decides it's time to start kicking up a storm. It's hilarious and fun to feel (and watch!), but it's also not the most comfortable thing in the world when attempting to sleep. In other news, I'm totally buying a body pillow this week. MUST. BUY.

Best moment this week: This story is 100% true. Every time Ryan has tried to feel the baby kick, it stops, and he was getting really frustrated because he had to leave, and he wanted to really feel it. Finally, he put his face right up against my belly and yelled "dammit, baby!" and baby Moore readily complied, kicking him in the face.

Miss anything: Besides my husband? Yes. I miss my smaller boobs. Guys, I don't know why women want massive ta-tas. These suckers are huge and uncomfortable. I hope they shrink back down because growing a cup size in 12 weeks sucks.

Movement: All the time. We've got once crazy baby doing backflips in there!

Cravings: Ice water, cheese, strawberries, blackberries and lemonade for days.

Food aversions: Meat, eggs, kale and spinach. These days, I put pretty much all my veggies in my smoothies to trick the baby. Thus far, it's working.

Looking forward to: My 24 week appointment is at the end of this month, and we'll start discussing my natural birthing options, as well as set up hypnobirthing classes for when Ryan gets home. It's insane that we're over halfway!

And that's I've got for you right now, folks, but I'll leave you with a little picture of baby Moore for your viewing pleasure. Baby has ears for days…and I'm still calling boy! What do you think it is? (And no, there are no clues in the ultrasound. Our tech made sure!)

12-week bumpdate

Yesterday, I was officially 12 weeks pregnant! I was so happy that Ryan was still around for that little milestone because this is the last progress picture he's going to be able to take for a long while. Last night, he confessed that he hopes I have "a big 'ol belly" when he comes home, and I'l admit - I wouldn't mind actually looking pregnant, too! My next OB appointment is tomorrow, so hopefully it will all be good news :)

^^^ not entirely certain what this face is…maybe it's my 'I have no makeup on…is this necessary? face."

How far along: 12 weeks

Gender: We're not finding out!

Weight gain: Nothing...Weight, as usual depends on whether I'm able to poo or not. However, when I can (which is getting better, by the way), I haven't gained anything.

Maternity clothes: None. I've started wearing looser tops though, as evidenced by my shirt above. Tight things aren't too comfortable anymore.

Stretch marks: Not on my stomach. My boobs, however, grew a cup size in 12 weeks. There are tiny little lines on them. Belly, however, is golden.

Belly button in or out: In

Sleep: I'm sleeping great! If I drink too much water too late, I have a trip or two to the bathroom, but otherwise I've been golden!

Best moment this week: The best moment is yet to come. Another OB appointment tomorrow and getting to hear the peanut's heartbeat.

Miss anything: Food. I don't really have anything specific I want, I'd just like to eat with abandon again.

Movement: Nope.

Cravings: Ice and ice water. Yes, I am aware this is often a sign of iron deficiency in pregnant women, so I'll be addressing it with my doctor tomorrow, especially since I have no appetite whatsoever. I am not concerned, since I think it's in large part because of the heat here in AZ.

Food aversions: All meat and eggs, really. They don't make me nauseous anymore, but I just have no desire to eat them.

Looking forward to: Hearing baby's heartbeat tomorrow and getting an update on our progress! I'm also counting the days till Ryan's home…I'll be 17 weeks!

one step forward

Well, Ryan and I had our very first ultrasound this past Friday!
I'll admit that I was pretty freaking nervous for it, simply because I had this innate fear that something was wrong.
The ultrasound tech alleviated our fears though,
and we got to see our little peanut on the screen for the first time ever.

Here's the tricky part though (and it's the main reason we went in for the ultrasound).
Ryan and I conceived on birth control, which makes it tricky to predict an actual due date.
Case in point? Based on the dates (last cycle, etc), I'm 11.5 weeks right now.
However, our little baby is measuring small at only 10 weeks today.
So, the ultrasound tech told us in cases like this, they go solely off the measurements of the baby.

^^^ image via

So, we basically just went back in time 1.5 weeks.
It doesn't seem like much when you think about it that way, but trust me...
with morning sickness, it feels like an eternity of extra time until the second trimester!

They've adjusted my due date to December 15th,
but the tech made sure to inform me that this could change if the baby catches up in size.
Regardless, we were just excited to actually see and get a visual (and audio) confirmation of our baby's health!
The baby has a high heart rate of 163 beats per minute, which they said is high but strong.

Also, she informed me that there is a ton of room for this little baby to grow,
as my uterus is measuring 11.5 weeks and the baby is measuring 1.5 weeks less...
he/she was all huddled in the right corner, hiding out, and it made those cramps a whole lot more understandable.
I was thrilled Ryan was able to join me this time around because he leaves in 2 weeks,
and he won't be around for any of the ultrasounds until the very end.

So, now I just wait until my next appointment on June 4th to check on baby again,
and hoping that this little nugget knows that all it has to do is grow!

11-week bumpdate

^^^ as stated on instagram, Ryan and I are on the fence about whether that's bloat, a food baby or baby baby

How far along: 11 weeks - though I measured small at my OB appointment last week, so I'll have an ultrasound this Friday to know for sure.

Gender: We're not finding out!

Weight gain: My weight's been fluctuating depending on whether or not this baby is making me constipated. However, when everything is running *ahem* smoothly, I haven't gained anything.

Maternity clothes: None. I do, however, live in yoga pants and my lululemon shorts these days.

Stretch marks: No. I've started taking preemptive measures though, and rather than buying expensive creams, I've done some research and I'm using pure coconut oil around my belly, back and thighs. It's especially great in the dry Arizona weather.

Belly button in or out: In

Sleep: Sleeping is getting better! I'm always tired, but I'm trying to make sure I'm in bed by 9 every night so I get a full 9 hours of sleep before work. I still get up 2-3 times to pee though.

Best moment this week: The best moment was meeting my OB last week. He's great, and despite my reservations about having a man that's not my husband all up in my lady bits, he really put me at ease.

Miss anything: Sushi. I would give my left leg for a good spicy salmon roll right about now. I'm also really missing my excessive coffee drinking. I think that my headaches are, in large part, because of my caffeine reduction.

Movement: Nope.

Cravings: Nectarines. They're like crack to me, and they're only a million times better if I put nutella on them. They are divine.

Food aversions: Steak, chicken, bacon, eggs - pretty much all poultry right now, really. Also, I can't do peppers. We went to Chipotle this past weekend for burrito bowls, and it ended really badly. I slept in the guest room.

Looking forward to: I'm looking forward to the ultrasound this Friday! I can't believe it's the first time we'll get to see our nugget! I'm also really looking forward to the second trimester. I can't wait to feel human again.
